2014, Kicks off with one of the most glamorous events in the Philippine
Cosplay scene as Asia Kawaii Way presents Marble Wonderland Philippines.
This event have been part of the main attractions
of Anime Festival Asia 2013 in Singapore and Indonesia. Highlighted by
the Jfashion and cosplay catwalk, Marble Wonderland is one of the fastest rising
premiere event in Asia.
Movie Star Cafe was a perfect fit to host the event. The venue was oozing with
pop culture from movies to anime and cartoons. Staff and crew from the venue
wore pop culture costumes that appeal to the mass audience.
The event began with an upbeat AVP portfolio of the event.
Highlighted by the popular asian models from japan and singapore,
it served as a teaser for what's to come later that evening.
An exhilirating production number from Miume and Kamen Liar 217 (Niina) opened the show.
This gave way to the introduction of the host of the event Ms. Rhianna Floresca and Alodia Gosiengfiao.
Alodia was picture perfect like a japanese Oiran doll with her very colorful kimono outfit.
As part of the program, Alodia introduced the main advocacy of the event as part of her
project to help suvivors of typhoon Yolanda. Ms. Alodia has been helping his fellow
visayans even before the disaster.
After her speech came the highlight of the evening, the Alodia Sister's Competition,
this was the unique flavor of Philippines version of Marble Wonderland.
The Alodia Sisters grand winner is a prestigious title as the winner will not only
represent Alodia and the group in various events but will be an ambassador of Philippine
Cosplay . Part of the prize of the winner will be media exposure and regular
hosting duties at Movie Star Cafe.
8 Contestants strut their most creative and colorful cosplays in this competition.
Each contestant are given time to present their talent with a J-culture twist.
Before the winner was announced cosplayer models Kristell Lim, Jia Gold Bustamante and Michelle
Echavez strut they way in the catwalk with their impressive cosplay outfits.
In a very rare occassion Myrtle Sarrosa, PBB Grand Winner
and Hero TV Jock, performed Two musical numbers for the audience. This is one of the rare
event where you can find 4 of the most prestigious name in the Philippine anime community
sharing 1 stage.
After the presentation came the short interview portion. Most of the contestants were nervous but
were more excited to be part of the contest. A lot of them gave their very best.
But, in the very end Ms. Rachel "Rae Red" Redecio stood out as the grand winner and bagged
the P50,000 prize. Rae Red wore a genderbend Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist that
made her stood out in the competition.
The event capped of with a big celebration with the winners along with the international guests.
In a short brief interview with Miume and Dance 217, we asked "What can you say about the audience"
Miume replied, "They are powerful and cheerful".
What can you say about you stay here in the Philippines? ", they replied " They feel great because
of the warm welcome." OUR : "Will you be touring manila?" , they replied "They have been shopping in SM
Mall of Asia since yesterday and it was great" OUR: "Would you like to perform again in the Philippines",
"Yes" , they replied
Congratulations! Once again to Marble Wonderland and their director Junya Yamada for giving us
this great event. Kudos! Also to Cosplay Network Philippines and Anime Alliance for partnering in
the event.
